I hope your Easter holiday was good to you and that you were able to share with family and friends.
Since the end of the season on 22nd March, almost wondering what to do with myself. Last Wednesday Vent du Cap, Zap, Nimrod crew on Panacea and Hans took Scorpio down to Island for a lovely braai. Thank you to Roy and Marion for their hospitality – it was a very pleasant evening.
We had an off shore race at the beginning of April, and the Pacer are still sailing on a Saturday afternoon. Lots of wind last Saturday – two boats were out and it was the Old ballies against the newbies – needless to say they each won a race so was equal footing – well done for being out there –
Our CANSA funding has risen to R59 499.21 – what an awesome amount of money nearly twice the amount we raised last year. Thank you so much for your support – it is ALWAYS appreciated. And in that vein ,on Saturday 29th April whilst the Yot Grot is happening, we will have the CANSA ladies down from 10am to 1pm to let our members, men and women, have a private examination of breasts and mole mapping for free. So please come along and see Nadia and her team and put your mind to rest.
Please contact Margi to book your table – it is R100 for a table and you can bring all your unwanted spares and bits and pieces down.
Also on Saturday 29th – there is an invitation being sent out to all of our RNYC Wednesday night Fun’d sailors to attend an end of Season Dinner – please come I am sure it is going to be a very good evening.
The next off shore event is the Flotilla to Richards Bay the weekend of 19 – 21 May – weather permitting to dust off your barnacles and cobwebs and go have fun.
Again – thank you to everyone in the Wednesday night team – another bumper season under our belt.
Yours in Sailing
