Carol’s Sailing Report – Wednesday Night Fun’d Sailing

Ahoy my fellow Yachties

RNYC has been very fortunate to hold two Wednesday sails – PYC have not been so lucky as they had bad weather and  sailing movement that interfered with sailing.

Thank you to Ron Pet for helping with the results and showing Hemraj Gokal the new system on Sailwave.  I think it is going to work very well throughout the season.

Our first sail had 26 boats out and last week  21 – we were so lucky, from the wind dying, to actually blowing hard enough to get the boats round the course.

On Sunday, the keelers went South for the Trafalgar Race – well done to all who braved the elements:  together with Derek and Chris for holding the fort on Galaxy.

Next Wednesday, 2nd November is RNYC 3rd race of the season.  Hope to see you all out on the water and as November is “MOVEMBER” – looking forward to seeing all the new moustaches on our sailors faces.  We have Wednesday night Fun tee shirts for sale – please come to office to purchase one – R20 per week over the 12 week season = R240 which will go straight to our CANSA Assoc. fund – let’s see which yacht will take the lead in fund raising for this worthy cause.

Yours in sailing

Carol
