Ahoy fellow sailors
Well December is upon us – last Wednesday (30 November) I was able to sell our Wednesday night Fun sailing shirts and raised R830 in an hour – thank you so much everyone – really appreciate your input – we have approx. 15 left at R20 each; if your passing the office, please buy one: its going to a very good cause. I also awarded Keith Brodie a prize for the best MOVEMBER moustache – thank you to all those that all supported.
We had a light SE blowing with 11 yachts participating in the RNYC race. – again thank you, as always for your support and to Donovan representing STANDARD BANK for their sponsorship and prizes. They are really hands on.
Our next sailing date is WEDNESDAY 14TH DECEMBER – when I host our CHRISTMAS CAROL event: always a fun event getting into the spirit of Christmas: please feel free to decorate your yacht and yourselves: a couple of prizes for the best dressed. Father Christmas will be visiting with his helpers to help make your wishes come true. Rob Main Baillie will be entertaining us so put on your party shoes for the after party.
Instead of bringing toys this year, a donation to our CANSA fund would really be appreciated and there will be a wrapped box in the bar area for you to make your donation – if you want to make a donation in the name of your yacht, please let me know so we can challenge the other yachts to equal or better their donation. Christmas is about family and the gift of giving – Royal Natal Yacht Club is my extended family – I had thought that I would try for 70 yachts on the water but that isn’t necessary – 70 friends will do the trick
Merry Christmas everyone – God Bless
Yours in Sailing
