MG CAR CLUB – CARS ON THE LAWN – Sunday, 20th November 2016

The MG Car Club will once again be visiting RNYC on Sunday, 20th November 2016.

The MG Car Club have decided, that instead of contributing to the usual toy run, they will this year be collecting for the less fortunate old folk.  Advice has been sought from TAFTA (The Association For The Aged) here in Durban and they have three sub-economic homes which accommodate old folk who have very limited means financially.  It is to these homes that we will be directing the results of our collection.

TAFTA have a scheme by which they collect goodies and make up “Cheer Boxes” for the old folk in these sub-economic homes and who have no hope of getting or affording anything special for Christmas.  The suggested items to be collected are:  Toothbrushes,  toothpaste, soaps, deodorants, body lotions, Vaseline, shampoo, talc powder,  disposable razors, biscuits, teabags, puzzle books and pencils.  It is also suggested that rather than buy say, one Jumbo bottle of lotion, to go for two medium sized bottles to spread the benefit a bit wider.

The MG Car Club would like to use this day for the collection and request that any members who would like to contribute to this, do so by leaving any contributions at RNYC reception either on the day, or on week days during office hours between 08h00 and 16h00.  Any donations will be greatly appreciated.
