Wednesday Night Report and CANSA Update.

Ahoy Sailors

First of all, thank you to all the yachties for being on the water 21st Feb.  wind was light but we managed a race in giving the A div 2 laps and shortening course for the B div, ensuring everyone finished in good time.

Brad Rayson (Flyer) sponsored two prizes, Rob Samways on Running with Scissors won first prize an overnight stay for two at Palm Dune, and then we raffled the bigger prize – for 6 pax in Zinkwasi –  which was won by Keith Brodie on Ivanhoe.  Thank you again Brad for your very generous prizes.

Craig and Bev Campbell then showed a short video to remind everyone of the wonderful prize up for grabs, given to us by Steven Saad of Aspen.  Thank you appreciate your time and effort.

Thanks to Meleney and her team for keeping us feed and watered, and to my support staff, Jennifer, Barry & Michael Boorman on Race support; and of course Kearin our Sailing Secretary and Moses and Stephen for mark laying.

Secondly,  what can I say, we had an amazing turn-out for our Spray and Shavathon on Sunday 25th even although the weather wasn’t great we raised R7200 – an amazing effort and a fun day was had by all.

Thank you Kathy Burger, Jennifer, Margie T, the boys and everyone else who supported us.

Next Wednesday 7th March will be our second last Wednesday evening sail and Clive Jackson may have a sponsor up his sleeve !!

Looking forward to seeing everyone on the water – I managed to obtain a few more wraps (buff) from CANSA and these are for sale at R50 each. – will be selling them over the next few weeks.

Yours in Sailing
