“LETS GO SAILING”

Complements of the Season to ALL. We have had a very busy year end and start to the New Year. In December 1st Port Natal held their Annual Year End Scout camp and RNYC and I hosted the Scouts to two SAILING DAYS. We had 19 Sea Scouts that had 2 days of wonderful sailing and water activities at high tide in front of RNYC.

We are now back to Normal sailing. If you are interested in Joining the sailing on any of the days advertised Please ensure that you are on time for the course as we are restricted by the tides on these days. Rather be early. All Juniors have to assist in rigging and de-rigging as this is part of learning the skills of sailing and responsibility.

Please ensure that your children when attending have extra clothes and a towel as they will be getting wet. Sun block, hat and sand shoes should they have.
OUR JUNIOR PROGRAMME is to introduce children 8-13 years of age to Optimist and RS Tera sailing in front of RNYC @ high tide.
These courses will be an Intro to Sailing (Basic knots, Rigging & parts of boat)
As well as those that have already been sailing GO (Basic Knots, Rigging & Parts of boat, Wind Direction)
& START Sailing (as per previous with Wind Direction, Sailing Reach, Beat, Run) .
Numbers are limited to approx. 10 children on these days. Due to the availability of boats.

Should you have your own boat and life jacket please bring them along and we’ll teach you to rig up and go sailing.

Oppies and RS Tera’s, life jackets & course notes are supplied on these days.

PAYING IT FORWARD:
I would like to once again make a special thank you to all those that contributed last season to assisting and expanding our programme. For this Season should anybody wish to contribute with donations/funds/or your time and skills to this programme please Contact Graham Rose or myself.
This programme runs with volunteers that have a love for SAILING and passing their knowledge to the next generation. Lets pay it forward.

Please keep a look out on the NOTICE BOARDS and NEWS LETTERS. We will also be sending out emails or SMS/Whats apps etc. during the weeks to remind all of these dates and times. Should you wish to be informed on a more personal note Please send me your email/cell numbers so that I can let you know dates and times.
We would like to introduce those that have started to learn the basics to start with mini race courses. These races will be taken as part of Royal’s Sailing season and will go towards trophies at the end of the years prize giving. So LETS GO SAILING and have a FUNZUNSAIL Season.

Saturday : 6th FEBRUARY 2016 : 12:30 to 16:00 (High Tide 14:43 1.8m)

PLEASE ENSURE THAT YOU BOOK AS PLACES ARE LIMITED.
Unless you have your own boat please bring it along and you will be incorporated into the course.
